Overview

Our research team is interested in better understanding human cardiovascular and thermoregulatory responses during exercise in hot conditions with application to athletic and occupational settings. We explore perturbations involving ambient temperature; different clothing ensembles; body cooling methods; hydration; exercise intensity; exercise duration; and others. Populations studied include athletes; sedentary individuals; law enforcement and military personnel; sports officials; and industrial and agricultural workers.
